Literature Text

I rode the subway in endless circles, scared to get off and face the real world. The only proof I had of the previous night was the faintest hint of your perfume on my coat.

Why had things turned out this way? Everything had been better before you'd placed your hands on my chest. You kissed me so hungrily - and my ears filled with the hissing crackle of vinyl. After so long waiting for it, it disappointed me that it was so ordinary. Sometimes reality can be far too real.

You said it would make you happy. That was what I wanted more than anything, but even so feeble excuses fell from my lips in desperation. You simply smiled and turned the lights down low.

With precious little ceremony we joined, first at the lips and then at the hips. And just as quickly, it was over. The ache in my head wouldn't subside, however much I clutched it.

I'd only wanted to find some understanding.
I'll leave this one up to your interpretation, I think. I'd be interested in hearing what you make of it.

I like this, it's awesome. I like the whole idea, searching for more than the top layer of mindless aesthetics within a relationship etc. Great work :)
